These seminars are designed to challenge Christian PhD students to integrate their faith with their academic discipline and to link future faculty with mentors and colleagues in their field from around the country. The application process is competitive and nation wide. Two seminars run concurrently: "Ethnic Pluralism and the Question of Integration in American Life" led by Dr. Michael O. Emerson, Associate Professor of Sociology, Rice University and "Questioning Belief: American Literature and the Conflict of Intrepretations" led by Dr. Roger Lundin, the Clyde S. Kilby Professor of English, Wheaton College and visiting professor at the University of Notre Dame. Seminar course descriptions can be found at the Christian Scholars Program web site. Students in other disciplines with related research interests are encouraged to apply. The seminars are co-sponsored with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and funded by the Religion Program of The Pew Charitable Trusts.
