This announcement is directed to interested parties who work in the areas of politics and presidential elections, and who can arrange bulk transportation of the said materials from Washington D.C. The Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress plans to discard a collection of presidential candidates files from its former clippings library.
The files are organized by candidate name, and include major national newspaper, magazine, and some journal articles for nearly all declared presidential candidates from the early 1950s through the mid 1990s. Contents include 15 boxes measuring 12" h. x 15" d. x 20" l. They are available to any bona fide school, university, library, research institute, or scholar who is willing to be responsible for their removal from the Library of Congress in not less than 60 days, by February 7, 2002.
