This conference will celebrate the arrival of Ralph M. Waters, M.D., in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1927, and explore his legacy in anesthesia practice and professionalism. Abstracts are invited on any aspect of his career and legacy AND ALSO on any aspect of anesthesia history related to the three broad areas of professionalism to which Dr. Waters contributed: 1)education; 2)research; and 3)creation of specialty societies designed to promote improvements in the clinical and ethical standards of practice in anesthesiology.
