Call for papers and presentations:
There’s still time! The deadline for submission of abstracts and panels has been pushed back to December 10. Please take advantage of this opportunity to participate. Topics for the SW-TXPCA/ACA conference might include, but are not limited to:
- revivalism on the frontier
- sects and settlement
- the geography of the LDS
- religion and regional political activism
- religious media from Sister Aimee to Dr. Schuller
- the New Age West
- religion and nationalism in public culture
- the technological transformation of religion and the religious transformation of technology
Please join the Southwest-Texas Popular Culture/American Culture annual meeting in Albuquerque and consider giving a presentation on issues relating to religion and culture. Both individual papers and full panels will be considered.
The 2002 meeting of the SW-TX PCA/ACA will be at the Albuquerque Hilton near the U of New Mexico campus. Special events are planned for the meeting and any modern language is welcome for presentations. For details about the meeting, the site, and travel, see the web site at
