Georgia Association of Historians Annual Conference
April 12-13, 2002

Proposals for papers and panels are now being accepted for the Georgia
Association of Historians 2002 Conference to be held April 12-13 in Jekyll
Island. The theme for this year's conference is "Place in History." The
theme can explore the impact of environment, culture, geography, and other
aspects of place as they have affected the history of individuals and
groups. Other proposals will be considered but first consideration will be
given to those that address the theme. Please send one-page proposals for
individual papers or full panels to the address below.
Proposals will be accepted until December 15, 2002.
The keynote speaker for the GAH annual meeting will be Dr. Andre Gunder
Frank, Professor Emeritus at the University of Amsterdam,
Netherlands. Prof. Frank is widely known for his pioneering work in
economic development and the history of the world economy. His most
recent book, _ReOrient: Global Economy in the Asian Age_, was awarded
the World History Association's inaugural best book prize in 1999.
