Conference Theme: Women on the Edge
This academic conference will explore a broad range of topics related to Women's Studies. It is open to faculty, researchers, practitioners, and graduate students. One session may be open to exceptional undergraduate presenters nominated by faculty. New scholars are encouraged to submit proposals. All disciplines are welcome.
A wide range of topics is welcome for the conference. Some ideas include the following:
Women on the cutting edge of technology or other fields
Marginalized women
Women and Poverty
Changing gender socialization patterns in the US or elsewhere
Women and psychology
Women's studies and teacher education
Women and the medical establishment
Feminism and young women
Women as heroes in mystery novels
Women and literature
Empowering women: past, present, and future
Women in the corporate world
Race/class/gender/sexual orientation
Whither affrimative action
Women and social movements (civil rights, handicap rights, gay/lesbian rights)
Women and "reality" t.v. or other popular culture media
Feminist theory: past and present
Rape and culture
Women and public policy
Women in non-industrialized societies
