The Northwest Territory Alliance (the Midwestern Revolutionary War research and reenactment society) is inviting proposals for papers to be presented at its third annual SYMPOSIUM ON REVOLUTIONARY AMERICA, 1765-1789, to be held Saturday, April 27, 2002, at the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
We invite proposals for topics relating to the Revolutionary War Period.
Possible subjects include (but are not limited to): military, social, industrial, or political history; archeology, architecture, museums and archives, clothing and fashion, armament, food ways, etc. We welcome proposals from both professional and amateur levels, and from both inside and outside academic and re-enacting circles. NWTA membership is NOT a requirement for speakers.
Your proposal should be approximately 100 to 250 words in length. In addition to this summary, please include a brief description of your source materials, and a brief (one page or less) biographical note or resume.

Targeted talk length is 15 to 30 minutes--please state length in your proposal. Slide or visual presentation may also be considered.
Presentations should be of academic quality. Speakers will be expected to
furnish an appropriately cited copy of their papers--or, in the case of visual presentations, a synopsis and list of sources--on disk (MS Word and/or RTF file) prior to the conference for future publications. Audience handouts encouraged, but not required. Registration fees to be waived for speakers.
