CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Pennsylvania Historical Association invites submission of proposals (individual papers, sessions, or panels) for its 2002 annual meeting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Scheduled for October 17-19, 2002 on the campus of Millersville University, the meeting is open to scholars, researchers, educators, and professional and lay audiences interested in the history and heritage of the Commonwealth and the Mid-Atlantic region.
The program committee is particularly interested in whole sessions and panels oriented to the general theme of “Telling the Story: The Future of Pennsylvania’s Past.”
Subjects might include current research trends in a particular field of history; public perceptions of history as evidenced in film, museum programming, or popular literature; the viability of state and/or regional history; the use of historical analysis in public policy formulation; historic preservation in Pennsylvania; the audience for Pennsylvania or Mid-Atlantic history; publishing needs and interests of scholarly and popular presses and magazines; the impact of technology on the teaching of Pennsylvania history; etc.
