"Bringing the World Home: Toward a National Community of International
Outreach Educators"
May 2-4, 2002 - UW Madison Campus
A national conference for professional outreach coordinators of Title VI
programs (area studies centers, language resource centers, and centers for
international business) plus other non-title VI centers, programs, and K-16
educators that teach about the world.
Proposals for panels should include three to four presenters organized
around individual paper presentations, multi-media workshops, round-tablediscussions, and/or documentary film showings for breakout sessions. We especially encourage Title VI programs to consider including teacher partners as presenters. Proposals should address outreach issues to such constituencies as business, K-12 and post-secondary education, the general public, government, and media.
Possible topic areas include but are not limited to:
- Best practices
- Technology
- Resource offerings
- Cooperative ventures
- Opportunities abroad
- Programming challenges
- Curriculum development
- Other creative ideas
- Exhibit space will be available.
Proposals should be made online. Presentation format will be workshop style.Presentations should be issues-oriented and limited to 15 minutes each.
1st deadline for proposals: June 15, 2001
2nd deadline for proposals: September 30, 2001
