ST DAVID - CULT, CHURCH AND NATION

An international conference of the Centre for the Study of Religion in
Celtic Societies in conjunction with St David's Cathedral, to commemorate 1,400 years since the death of St David.
Speakers include: Prof. David Dumville, Prof. Sir Glanmor Williams, Prof Maire Herbert, Prof Wendy Davies, Dr Huw Pryce, Dr Nancy Edwards, Prof D.P. Davies, Dr Len Nokes, Dr Morfydd Owen, Prof. Thomas Charles-Edwards, Dr Julia Barrow and Dr Jane Cartwright.
Contributions are invited on any aspect of the cult of St David past and present and on pertinent aspects of the archaeology and history of the St David's region. A selection of papers from the conference will be published. Paper titles and 100 word abstract should be sent by 1 November 2001.
The conference, which runs from 23-27 June 2002, will be based in Lampeter with sessions and a public lecture in St David's. An excursion will also be made to St David cult sites in Ceredigion.
