The Faculty of Arts and the School of History at the University of Liverpool are proud to announce that Professor J.G.A. Pocock will deliver the 2001 David Beers Quinn lecture on Tuesday 16th October. Professor Pocock will speak on 'The New British History'. All are welcome to attend.
It is very appropriate that Professor Pocock give this lecture in Liverpool--for so long a central location in the Anglo-American world--and that he do so in this lecture series. Professor Quinn, emeritus at the School of History, University of Liverpool, was and remains a commanding figure in the history of Britain's colonisation of Ireland and the New World.
