From November 14-16, 2002 Penn State will host a conference on "Lewis and
Clark: The Unheard Voices." The conference will reexamine the 200 year impact
of the Lewis and Clark expedition on peoples, cultures, and the environment.
Environmental historians, historians of science, historians of native peoples,
cultural studies scholars, and visual arts scholars will be participating,
including noted historian Stephen Ambrose. More detailed information including
a Call for Papers and online registration can be found on the conference web
