Essay submissions (e-mail submissions welcome) are invited for American Nineteenth Century History, the first issue of volume 2 of which has just appeared. The issue contains articles by Peter Field on Emerson and race, Jennifer Gross on Augusta Jane Evans, Yonatan Eyal on the Liberal Republicans of 1872, William Brock on Bryce's The American Commonwealth, and Bryan Le Beau on Courier and Ives.
