Arcadia Publishing is currently inviting authors, historical
organizations and museums to submit new book proposals
for our 2002 publishing program. As Acquisitions Editor for Indiana, Kansas, Missouri and North and South Dakota, I am especially
interested in these areas. I hope to expand our IMAGES OF AMERICA series to include more titles on these states.
Parties interested in other areas, please feel free to contact me and I will forward your inquiry to the appropriate editor.
As a publisher, Arcadia's background is in regional
history. Our books document local history through the
use of archival and historic photographs with
accompanying captions, and we have amassed a national
library of over 1,200 titles. We have worked
successfully with many preservation agencies to
produce these photographic histories, and have
published collections from the Detroit Public Library,
the Atlanta History Center, the National Ski Hall of
Fame and the Coastal Discovery Museum. As well, we
use the most up-to-date reproduction techniques to
ensure high quality and preservation of the images.
Arcadia Publishing is a dynamic, traditional press
with a unique approach to publishing. We handle all
parts of the publishing process - from editing and
production to sales and marketing - at our own
expense, thereby eliminating any financial risk for
the author or group. Since we pay royalties on each
book sold, the publication of a visual history can
work as a significant fund-raiser and promotional
item.
Please feel free to contact me at 773.549.7002 or
arcadiasam@yahoo.com for additional information or to
share your thoughts on possible projects. We hope you will
join us in bringing your local history to life.
