The SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, March 2, 2002 in Charleston, South Carolina. Proposals for papers and poster sessions are welcomed from school teachers, graduate students, college and university faculty, librarians, archivists, and other members of the association.
Proposals are welcome from any field or era of history. Papers representing European, non-Western, and United States history, as well as South Carolina history, are invited. Papers may also examine theoretical or pedagogical issues in the study of history. Both individual and panel proposals will be considered. Poster sessions that focus on history teaching, sources, methods, and projects are also invited. Posters should involve visual or audio displays, and session presenters should be available during breaks for questions from meeting participants.
Individuals willing to serve as commentators and/or chairs are also invited to submit a list of their fields of expertise and/or topic areas on which they could comment. If you wish to be considered for the program, please send a one-page abstract of your proposal and a brief curriculum vitae to Dr. Linda Hayner at the address below. Deadline for submission of proposals is 1 DECEMBER 2001.
