HORROR: CALL FOR PAPERS
2002 NATIONAL CONVENTION OF THE POPULAR CULTURE ASSOCIATION AND AMERICAN
CULTURE ASSOCIATION
The "Horror" Area Chair of the Popular Culture Association invites
interested scholars to submit papers on any aspect of horror in literature,
cinema, television, or general culture for the 2001 PCA/ACA National
Convention to be held at the Sheraton Centre hotel in Toronto, Canada. The
conference runs from March 13 - 17.
If you are interested in being a presenter, please send a completed paper of
not more than 15 minutes reading time, OR an abstract of 100 words, through
regular mail or email. Please provide your contact information (name,
mailing address, phone numbers, and email) as well.
If you would like to propose a panel of 3-4 speakers each, please include
the following:
Panel title
Name and contact information for the Panel Chair
250-word abstracts of each paper
Contact information for each presenter
Multiple submissions to different areas are not allowed at the conference.
You must also be present at the conference to read your own paper-no
"readings by proxy" are allowed.
Each conference room will be equipped with a VHS player, TV monitor, slide
projector, and screen. No other equipment is available. Please bring
slides in your own carousel.
If you have specific days and times at which you would like to present,
please let me know at the time of submission. I will forward your request
to the schedulers. Please be aware that not all requests can be honored,
but we will do our best.
The deadline for submission of abstracts and/or papers is SEPTEMBER 10,
2001.
