"Bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase" special issue of the Arkansas Historical Quarterly

The Arkansas Historical Quarterly will devote one or more of its 2003 issues to commemorating the bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase. S. Charles Bolton of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock will serve as guest editor for the project. The Quarterly invites all interested scholars to submit essay-length manuscripts on Arkansas in the late colonial or early territorial period or on the Louisiana Territory generally. The deadline for submission is August 31, 2002. As is its custom, the Quarterly will circulate all manuscripts to outside readers for evaluation. For further information, contact:
