CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS
ENERGY AND POWER: A HISTORICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA
We are seeking contributors for the 2-volume "Energy and Power: A Historical Encyclopedia", edited by Francis Michael Stackenwalt and to be published in hard book and e-book by ABC-CLIO, Inc., Santa Barbara, CA, USA. Entries are desired for a broad range of topics on nonrenewable and renewable, animate and inanimate energy sources (e.g., coal, oil, nuclear, solar, biofuels, wind, water, tidal, etc), and events, persons, companies/organizations, technologies, laws/regulations related to energy. The chronology of the encyclopedia will run from prehistory to the present. The scope of the work will be global. "Energy and Power" is intended to be the definitive reference work on the subject for years to come.
Entries should run between 1 and 5 manuscript pages, depending on the significance of the topic. All entries will appear signed by the author, whose name and affiliation will also be listed on the contributor page. Contributors may write any number of articles. A very small stipend and/or a copy of the completed work may be offered for significant and multiple entries. The encyclopedia is scheduled for publication in spring 2003; entries are now being taken. Topics will be eliminated from the open list as received. We will be happy to mail in the near future a prospectus with a full description of the project, the names of the editorial board, and a list of entries.
