We envision a one-day conference (February 22, 2002) that enhances the study of history by drawing upon a wide variety of disciplines, such as cultural studies, psychology, and education. Topics may include the following:
- children's production, use, perception, and experience of space
- children's material culture and play
- formation of cultural and gender identity in children
- children's educational, health, and legal rights
- images of and for children in literature, art, and photography
- children's private, public, and political lives
Keynote speaker will be William Tuttle, author of Daddy's Gone to War: WWII and the Lives of Children We anticipate the audience to be those individuals working in a variety of academic fields that might pertain to the topics listed above.
