Dear colleagues,
In June 2001 a new mailing list "Museum Professionals" goes online, and we hope you will consider joining it. You can access the list at:
Web (information, subscription)
http://hclist.de/museum/index1.html
And you can send e-mails to the editorial staff at:
museum-admin@hclist.de
"Museum Professionals" is a moderated mailing list. This means that texts are reviewed by an editorial panel, revised if necessary and only then transmitted. The manager of the list will ensure that the contents meet academic standards and prevent their use for commercial, non-academic or non-relevant purposes. The editorial team is supported by an advisory board.
The list will be a useful reference tool for colleagues in museums, universities and other academic institutions, as well as to students of the arts, cultural sciences, museology and history. The main geographical emphasis is on Europe. For this reason "Museum Professionals" is bilingual (mainly German and English, but also French and Italian). To submit the list please complete the registration form.

The mailing list addresses themes and questions primarily relating to museums, but is also intended to be interdisciplinary, so that archaeological, historical, cultural, social and artistic information can be posted alongside other more established, central spheres of activity. Articles relating to the activities of archives and libraries will also be listed. A particular feature is the emphasis on museums and the internet. You will also find accounts and discussions of exhibitions, reviews of books and other communication media, as well as reports of conferences and calls for papers.
Sincerely
Editorial staff "Museum Professionals":
Ralf Blank M.A., Dipl.-Bibl. Manfred Hartmann, Thilo Martini M.A., Stephanie Marra M.A., Dr. Micha Roering, Robert Stroetgen M.A., Dr. Marcus Weidner
Advisory board:
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Borsdorf, Prof. Dr. Johathan Bowen, Prof. Dr. Peter Davis, Monika Hagedorn-Saupe, Dr. Oskar Pausch, Dr. Harald Kraemer, Dr. Thomas Schuler, Dr. Friedrich Waidacher
