"Historein: A Review of the Past & Other Stories" is a Greek-based but internationally-minded multilingual review of critical historical studies. It addresses themes related to the construction and function of historical writing and thinking, to the formation of social collectivities on the basis of controversial categories such as class, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, sexuality, to the representations and transformations of such collectivities within the course of historical time, to the ideologies and discourses that construct or deconstruct these evolutions. Although it focuses on Modern Greek studies as a point of departure, "Historein" provides a forum for the development of a broad thematic range of studies with a historical but also interdisciplinary perspective including the fields of epistemology, social anthropology, sociology, philosophy, and literary and cultural studies. In that respect, "Historein" invites scholarly articles from different intellectual environments and contexts aiming at the promotion of trans-national communication and exchange especially with reference to the issues of conceptual translation, intellectual hybridization and analytical (in)compatibility.
