The African American Studies Program at the University of Montana, Missoula is pleased to inaugurate the first Annual Montana Conference on African American Studies. This annual event will bring scholars from across the United States and the world to brainstorm on different aspects of the African American and Black Diaspora experiences and history. Interested participants should forward proposals/abstracts for papers or entire sessions on relevant topics. There is no disciplinary limitation. Papers are welcome from all disciplines. The conference particularly welcomes papers/sessions on the African American experiences in Montana and the American Northwest. Graduate students are encouraged to participate. All paper and panel proposals must be received by October 31, 2001.
