A three day conference held in Durham City, England.
Papers will be given a) which relate to aspects of the history of North-East England, b) in British or Irish history, c) which offer international comparisons and d) which present theoretical approaches. The conference is structured under the themes:
aspects of population movement,
the Irish in North-East England,
Irish protestants and Scots in England,
itinerant minorities in Britain,
Irish women and migration,
Speakers include Prof Colin Holmes of the University of Northumbria, Prof Anthony Hepburn (Sunderland University) Prof Frank Neal (Salford University).
