The History of Marine Animal Populations is a global research project dedicated to bring together historians and biologists improve our understanding of marine environmental history. An International Summer School is planned for 14-22 August 2001 to be held at the University of Southern Denmark at Esbjerg.

Aim:
The programme is designed to improve the methodological and analytical skills of participants by enhancing their understanding of the scientific and human factors that have interacted to condition ocean sustainability through the ages.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the programme,
students of humanities and social science disciplines will have developed an understanding of the sources, methods and outputs of marine biologists students from the natural science disciplines will have developed an understanding of the sources, methods and outputs of historian and social scientists
all students will have improved their communication skills and their abilities to present and debate issues
all students will have improved their ability to undertake group work
