This year, AHS will be publishing a third, special edition, 'Challenging Histories: Views of Australia in the Centenary Year'. This issue will draw on the work of leading Australian historians who will be reflecting on the state of history at a conference to be held at the State Library of Victoria in October.
The April edition of AHS includes articles by Frank Bongiorno, John Chesterman, James Walter, Claire Wright, Neville Meaney, Stuart Ward and Richard White on such diverse issues as ethical socialism, civil rights for indigenous Australians, marriage and women hotel-keepers, together with discussions of aspects of Australian identity.
