Searching for papers that relate to:
MEXICAN AND LATIN AMERICAN IMAGES OF CANADA AND/OR THE UNITED STATES
We are seeking papers that relate to how the images of Canada and/or the
United States are constructed and presented in Mexico and/or Latin
America. These images can come from a variety of sources and papers that
examine either the phenomonon itself or the impact of these images are encouraged.
Topics may include (but are not limited to) the following:
Mexican and Latin American images of Canada or the U.S. in:
Film
Literature
Television
Art
Music
Magazines
Newspapers
The media
Schools
Universities
Urban environments
advertising
History
Papers which examine broad areas, for example, images in the media in
general, or in popular culture in general, are also welcome. And, papers
which speak to the effect of these images upon political, cultural, and
gender issues in Mexico and/or Latin America also will be welcome.
Please send an abstract of 250 words to the area chair listed below. Give
the name and academic or professional title of each presenter and give the
name and complete address of the main presenter. Include the email
address, telephone number, and fax number of the main author. Please
indicate all AV requirements.
