CALL FOR PAPERS: Glolbalization in the 21st Century
For the Mexico meeting of the Popular Culture Assocation/
American Culture Association, 18-21 October. Deadline
for proposals is 1 June, 2001.
The world is boiling now with interest, both pro and con, in
globalization. Not to realize that it is one of the great drives in
present-day society is to overlook one of the significant forces in
societies today. It is therefore our imperative to try to understand all
that globalization entails. I am therefore keenly interested in studies of
societies other than the U.S., of comparative studies of two or more
cultures, of the conflicts that cultures have when they have a nexus. To
study them is to realize the problems and to make a first step toward
possible understanding or minimizing some of the tensions and conflicts
that result. This area is interested in all aspects of societies and
cultures individually and collectively.
