Pre-Colombian sites and Their educational Uses-(6/1/01; PCA/ACA 10/18/01-10/21/01). Join us in Puebla Mexico, October 18-21 at the 5th Annual Meeting of the Congress of the Americas. I am accepting until June 1, 2001, proposals for papers or performances that deal with Pre-Colombian sites as classrooms and laboratories for education. As an example, I Take a group of students to the Ruins of El Tajin, an ancient Totonac center in Papantla, Veracruz, Mexico. During a four week period the students receive instruction from staff members on archeology, anthropology, sociology and fieldwork methodology.
