JUST FEELINGS: CITIZENSHIP, JUSTICE, AND THE EMOTIONS

The symposium, which takes place in the context of a year of research sponsored by the Center for 21st Century Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on the broad subject of "Structures of Feeling: Emotions, Passions, Moods," will explore the interrelationships of justice and/or citizenship and the emotions in local, national, and transnational arenas, past or present, and in the context of contemporary debates in literary and cultural studies, critical legal studies, critical race theory, and new histories and analyses of the emotions.
Symposium begins at 1:00 p.m. in Curtin Hall 175, 3243 N. Downer Avenue, Milwaukee.
