The Sixth Women in Asia Conference, of the Women's Caucus of the Asian Studies Association of Australia, is to be held at The Australian National University, 23-26 September 2001.
Panel topics currently include (but are not limited to):
- 'The politics of reproduction': reproducing politics in Asia
- Religion and spirituality
- Women's writing
- Labour in the global economy
- Women's migration for trade/self-employment, labour contracts, and international marriage
- Women's experience of war and conflict
- Burmese women
- The construction of the feminine, masculine, age and youth
- Law, justice and gender
- Women's suffrage and education in Indonesia
- Performing and visual arts
