Dear colleagues,
We wanted to alert you to our multi-media coverage of African history issues, illustrated currently by the webcast of "The Story of Africa," a 26-week program produced by the BBC and accessible on our site. Listen by clicking on the series logo at the top right of our home page -- http://allafrica.com/.
Today is last day of live broadcasts from Fespaco, Africa's premiere film festival, now taking place in Ouagadougou. We're posting news and feature articles and photographs every day during the screenings. In addition, we're offering access to live, daily Webcasts, hosted by our reporter Ofeibea Quist-Arcton and produced by the BBC. Ofeibea, who is from Ghana, is one of Africa's best-known broadcast journalists and a lively personality who elicits interesting comments from her guests.
Many of you may know that AllAfrica is the successor to the non-profit Africa News Service and has become the largest distributor of African news and information globally, through electronic services such as Lexis-Nexis and Bloomberg. Allafrica.com is one of the Internet's largest content sites, posting over 500 stories a day from over 70 African media organizations, each of whom earn revenue from the enterprise. And if you want to keep up with African news on the go, through a Palm or other device, you can download customized feeds from our site through AvantGo and OmniSky.
Thanks,
Marie Nelson
