As acquisitions editor at ABC-CLIO--a California-based academic and reference publisher, well known for its America History and Life and Historical Abstracts series--I am seeking an editor for a new academic-reference project tentatively entitled: Encyclopedia of American Economic Policy. While the ultimate contents and structuring of the encyclopedia would be up to the editor (with guidance offered by ABC-CLIO), the two-volume work, as envisioned at this stage, would include articles on the history of American economic policy from colonial days to the present. The encyclopedia would cover trade, monetary, regulatory, anti-trust, and other economic policy arenas. All ABC-CLIO books are published in hard copy and online e-book formats, with full royalties to authors for versions.
Specifically, we are looking for a PhD who has published in the field and has an affiliation with an academic or research institution. The tasks of the editor include: conceptualizing the encyclopedia, developing a table of contents, finding contributing authors, and editing for content. ABC-CLIO provides copyeditors and other routine back-up support. There would be an advance and royalties for the editor, as well as money (and copies of the book) available for contributing writers.
