The Library Company of Philadelphia's Program in Early American Economy and Society (PEAES) is pleased to announce that the program schedule for its April 2001 inaugural conference, "The Past and Future of Early American Economic History," is now available on the website, www.librarycompany.org. The conference will be held in Philadelphia 20-21 April 2001, and will bring together senior and junior scholars who will discuss the current state of scholarship on the early American economy. Conference papers will be available on the website starting about 1 March 2001, and all registrants are urged to read these papers in advance. Conference activities include a walking tour of Philadelphia's early economy and a subscription dinner. In addition, a number of small stipends will be available for graduate students who will be traveling more than 30 miles to attend the conference. For more information about the conference and other PEAES activities and events, please visit the Library Company's website and follow the link to the Program in Early American Economy and Society, or email cmatson@librarycompany.org.
