VIENNA, VIRGINIA - September 12, 2000 - Jupiter Sky today announced the launch of its online magazine and community for student writers, artists and musicians . In addition to featuring poetry, short fiction, essays, photographs, artwork and musical compositions from student contributors, each monthly issue will also contain interviews with and practical advice from established practitioners in these fields, making it a perfect complement to the language arts, music or fine arts classroom. Students currently enrolled at either the scholastic (9-12) or collegiate (undergraduate and graduate) level are eligible to submit original works for publication in Jupiter Sky.
Todd Christopher, Jupiter Sky's Editor-in-Chief, said: "Our goal is to help nurture these young talents by providing them the guidance and tools to excel, and a very large and public arena in which to share their gifts."
In the future, Jupiter Sky will publish annual "best of" compilations, both in book format to showcase written, photographic and artistic submissions, and in CD format for musical contributions. And, as the students featured in Jupiter Sky achieve greater heights, follow-up pieces sharing the stories of their success will be published.
Located in Vienna, Virginia, Jupiter Sky was founded by Editor-in-Chief Todd Christopher, a former producer and editor at America Online, and is dedicated to the development and promotion of the arts and artists through new media.
