The FOLKLORE area solicits papers from graduate students, professors, folklorists, writers and other aficionados of all things folklore. Also welcome are proposals for slide shows, video presentations, musical presentations, and dramatic presentations.

Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Regional folkore
  • Mexican American folklore
  • Legends
  • Songs
  • Ballads and corridos
  • Festivals
  • Proverbs, riddles, rhymes, and folk poetry
  • Crafts
  • Tales of: saints, heroes, villians, martyrs, etc.
  • Beliefs and superstitions
  • Folk games
  • Folk foods
  • Folk speech and naming
  • Folk drama and dance
  • Folk narratives
  • Folk customs and festivals and potpourri

Please send a 150 word abstract, including title, to me by 10 January 2001 at address below.
