The FOLKLORE area solicits papers from graduate students, professors, folklorists, writers and other aficionados of all things folklore. Also welcome are proposals for slide shows, video presentations, musical presentations, and dramatic presentations.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
Mexican American folklore
Ballads and corridos
Proverbs, riddles, rhymes, and folk poetry
Tales of: saints, heroes, villians, martyrs, etc.
Beliefs and superstitions
Folk speech and naming
Folk drama and dance
Folk customs and festivals
