Jusur
The UCLA Journal of Middle Eastern Studies
is soliciting manuscripts for its Volume 16 (2000) issue.
Jusur is a multidisciplinary journal devoted to studying all aspects of the Middle East from prehistory until the present day. Previous issues have included articles from disciplines such as history, anthropology, sociology, art history, political science, and comparative literature. In addition, every issue includes reviews of important films and scholarly books.
When the journal was first published in 1985 it was the first such journal in the field edited entirely by students. Today Jusur's readers and contributors come from all over the world and its articles are abstracted and indexed in Historical Abstracts, America: History and Life, and Periodica Islamica.
Contributors of articles and book reviews will receive three copies of the volume in which their work appears.
Submission of an article to Jusur implies that the article has not been published nor is being considered for publication elsewhere. In the interest of authors, copyright is assigned to the Regents of the University of California. Initially, articles should be provided in hardcopy format only. Articles must be in English, be double-spaced, and should not exceed 12,000 words including endnotes. We suggest use of the transliteration format of the International Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, and the font ME Times for including diacriticals. Authors must adhere to the accepted stylistic conventions contained in The Chicago Manual of Style, particularly regarding endnote format.
