Seminar Agenda and Purposes:
We will invite six candidates who have recently completed dissertations in Western American History to work on the revision of the dissertations for publication with two of the preeminent scholars in the field.
Featured Scholars:
Richard W. Etulain is a professor of History at the University of New Mexico. He is a distinguished expert in American History and a former president of the Western History Association. Professor Etulain has authored and edited more than 35 books, principally on Western literature,, Basques in the West, and the 20th Century American West.
Glenda Riley is the Alexander M. Bracken Professor of History at Ball State University and is also a former presidetn of the Western History Association. Professor Riley has published or edited more than 18 books, principally about women, ,families and ethnicity in the American West, and compariative settlement history.
