The Tenth Annual Wilma E. Grote Symposium for the Advancement of Women will focus on Kentucky women's contributions to all areas of the arts. It will be held March 22-24 on the campus of Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. The keynote speaker will be Kentucky writer Bobbie Ann Mason. We invite scholars, students, and other interested individuals to submit critical papers and panels, creative productions and exhibits, and roundtable discussing centering on the symposium theme, which may include the following:

Kentucky women in written and oral literary traditions
Kentucky women and the visual arts
Kentucky women and music
Fictional portrayals of Kentucky women
Films, theatrical and/or multimedia presentations by or about Kentucky women
Kentucky women viewed by insiders/Kentucky women viewed by outsiders.

Proposals should include the following:
Three copies of a 250-300 word abstract. Please omit submitter(s) name(s).
One copy of a cover sheet that includes submitter's name(s), address, phone number, e-mail and title of submission as it should appear on program A brief bio of each submitter
One copy of a description indicating needs for electronic equipment or special facilities.
