The theme of this year's conference is "Computer Ethics: Why bother?" with Professor Jeroen Van Den Hoven of the Centre for the Philosophy of Information and Communication Technology, Erasmus University, Rotterdam as keynote speaker.

The conference follows immediately after the 2000 Information Outlook (IO2000) Conference (http://www.acs.org.au/act/events/io2000/) of the Canberra Branch of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), and at the same venue: the Australian National University in Canberra. Persons who register for one of the two conferences will be eligible for a registration discount at the other.
