The Association of Muslim Social Scientists is proud to announce the AMSS 29th Annual Meeting, Islam and Society in the Twenty-First Century, 13-15 October 2000, Georgetown University, Washington, DC. The event is co-hosted by the Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding. This event is an international academic conference for Muslim scholars and others interested in Islamic issues.
In addition to academic presentations from scholars, two special sessions are organized on Islam, Pluralism, and Democracy and Islam and Globalism. Confirmed speakers for these sessions include Professor Abdel Karim Soroush (Iran), Amb. Murad Hoffman (Germany/Turkey) , Journalist Abdullah Schliefer (Cairo), Professor Akbar Ahmad (UK/USA), Professor Kamal Hassan (Malaysia)
Conference is open to the public. Registration fees: $55 for all three days, $25 for students, or $15 a day.
