The Society for Military and Strategic Studies will be hosting the Third Annual Military and Strategic Studies Student Conference at the University of Calgary, 2-3 February 2001. The organizers are seeking proposals and panels from both graduate and undergraduate students.

The proposed themes include the citizen soldier and militia, Revolution in Military Affairs, Civilzations and societies at war, electronic intelligence in modern warfare, human security, military history, peacekeeping, strategic studies, international relations, and terrorism. This list is not exhaustive and papers from all disciplines are welcomed and encouraged.

Proposals should be no longer than 250 words and presentations should conform to a 20-minute format. The deadline for proposals is November 15, 2000 and should be sent via e-mail or regular mail to Jillian Dowding
