The Politics of Art-Making: Interrogating Power/Courting Authority is the theme of the ninth-annual art history graduate student symposium at the Kress Foundation Department of Art History, University of Kansas on March 2 and 3, 2001. Submissions should address topics dealing with
diverse responses to power structures and/or discursive formations in any historical time period, location, or media. Interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged.
The keynote speaker will be Joanna Frueh, performance artist and professor of art history at the University of Nevada, Reno.
