In response to the call of Orientale Lumen – and in the spirit of our mission to foster a Catholic identity on campus – Iona College (located in New Rochelle, New York) will host a one-day conference on eastern Catholicism on Monday, November 6, 2000. It will begin at 8:45 am with opening remarks by our President, Br. James Liguori and will end at approximately 3:30 pm with concluding remarks by Fr. John Zeyack,pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church, Rahway, New Jersey. Nestled between these talks will be the following presentations:

Ani Bournoutian, Ph.D., Dean, Barnard College: "The Armenian Catholic Church: Armenian Catholics or Catholic Armenians?," 11:00 a.m.
Sr. Natalya Stoczanyn, S.S.M.I., Ukrainian Catholic Diocese of Stamford : "The Liturgical Year Celebrated through Music in the Ukrainian Catholic Church," 1:00 p.m.
Fr. Joseph Loya, O.S.A., Ph.D., Professor of Theology, Villanova University: "Faith in Full Color: Religious Images of Ruthenian Catholicism," 2:00 p.m.
