Call for Papers:
AIDS Literature: The Post-Protease Years
Panel to be held at the Northeast Modern Language Association convention in
Hartford (March 30-31, 2001)
Deadline for paper proposals: September 15, 2000
The production of AIDS Literature in the United States has exploded in the past few years. While the initial production was dominated by white, gay men, the current production represents a different and increasing authorship: women, children, and men and women of color. These communities represent both queer and straight perspectives on the pandemic, finding voice in poetry, prose, essay, and drama. This panel seeks to analyze new voices in AIDS literature from feminist, queer, and postcolonial theoretical points-of-view.
