The North East Conference on British Studies (NECBS) will hold its annual meeting at Concordia University, Montreal, on 27-28 October 2000. The full details of the conference are available at the conference website, listed below.

information are all available on-line. The same information will be mailed to the NECBS membership by the end of August. Anyone planning to attend may wish to check the on-line material to note early deadlines for the conference hotels.
The conference program includes a plenary address by John Beattie on urban crime in London, a roundtable discussion of rethinking problems of migration and identity in the British Empire, and a wide range of panels in many fields of British studies.
