"One Region, Many Communities: Ethnicity Along the Potomac" is the theme for the fall meeting of the Northern Virginia Studies Conference, sponsored by the History and Social Sciences faculty of Northern Virginia Community College. This interdisciplinary conference will focus on contributions of the ethnic populations to the development and evolution of the Potomac region.
The morning sessions will focus on the early history of the Potomac region. The afternoon sessions will concentrate on the nature and impact of recent immigrant groups to the area. The Program Committee invites proposals for papers, research topics, discussion panels or complete sesssions on any aspect, past or present, dealing with the diversity of the Potomac Region.
