The First Annual Writers' Workshop and Conference in honor of Rachel Carson will be held from June 12 through June 15, 2001 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The workshop is open to published and amateur writers as well as educators and interested individuals. Invited featured speakers include Linda Lear, author of the definitive Carson biography, Tom Horton, Gioia Timpanelli, Bruce Hiscock and Barbara Ras. Workshop sessions will be held in the areas of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and children's literature, and participants will have ample opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of coastal Maine and the activities surrounding Boothbay Harbor.
