Publisher is Hiring Historians Teaching Contemporary World History, European History, and Asian, African, and Latin American History
The Gale Group, the largest reference publisher in the U.S., is developing an online World History Resource Center, focused on the 20th century. The product is intended for undergraduate use. The online resource center will include over 1000 primary sources, representing all regions of the world, and covering important themes in world history. One of the goals is to represent the indigenous voices and some of the foreign material will be translated into English. Relevant academic journals, plus a number of encyclopedias and dictionaries from Scribners and MacMillan (all part of the Gale Group), will be part of the resource center.
We are commissioning historians who teach or perform research in Area Studies (Africa, Asia, Latin America), European history or World History to select primary sources for the project. The selections are due by the end of July and the compensation ranges from $500 to $1000, depending on the number of documents chosen and themes covered.
