California State University, Long Beach, will host the Western
Conference of the Association for Asian Studies on October 6-7, 2000.
A Pre-Conference Poolside Reception will held at the Long Beach Airport
Marriott Hotel on Thursday, October 5th. The program features nearly
300 scholars and specialists from across the United States and abroad,
and several special exhibits and a FilmFest will be held in conjunction
with the meeting. The Conference program, including registration and
