Paper proposals on any topic in American Studies, broadly defined, are welcome. Paper proposals should be no more than one page, and should include a provisional title. If submitted individually the proposals will be organised into appropriate panels; alternatively, panel proposals by two or more paper-givers, sharing a common theme, may be submitted. Proposals from postgraduate members of the Association are especially welcome. All proposals are due by October 31, 2000, and should be submitted to John Dumbrell, the Conference Secretary. Suggestions for plenary sessions are also very welcome.
